Fun on Boat Friday

I have a bit of excitement to report this Boat Friday.  My daughter's best friend and her father fish together during the lobster season.  If they are lucky enough to obtain a licence to do so, they go tuna fishing in September.  On Saturday they got a tuna!  To reel in one of these blue fins that average around a thousand pounds is a major job for a strong adult man but my daughter's friend, after a five hour fight got the huge tuna onto the boat by herself.  Her father was driving the boat. I saw her later that same afternoon, after a round of golf with her brother and father.  We shared some drinks and she was still able to move her arms just fine.  I sometimes think she is super human!

Tara is in red beside my daughter. I wish you knew how many times I have seen these two women take these selfies!

I am not into fishing, Mary, but I can feel your excitement.
Mary MacADNski: The kid balancing on the board with 7 other things to look at got totally overlooked in my news of the week, I see. Lesson - one tdirection at a time.
Very exciting indeed Mary! They are superwomen..
Mary MacADNski: Tara certainly is, doing a traditional man's job for a career. She also plays hockey and soccer.
Nice.....
Mary MacADNski: ok

Oh, Mary, that is a story full of excitement and danger - I admire Tara and her father - these are the tough, brave Canadian girls grown up in the rough world of sea and fishes!
I like also your photos!
Mary MacADNski: I admire them too. My daughter does not fish for a living but has grown up on boats of all kinds. They are seafaring women, both.

I love fishing and that to me sounds very exciting.
Great shot of the two girls and I hope that the boy in the top pictures makes it to the other side.......
Mary MacADNski: I couldn't believe she managed a five hour fight. Lobster season has been over since June so she wasn't feeling particularly toned or strong. She was about to give up after five hours when she finally landed it!

I ate a whole package of stroopwafels this week. They were delicious. I ate the last one 5 minutes ago!

Funny how girls love to take these pictures together Mary, something blokes tend not to do.
Mary MacADNski: You and Chris are experts at it. You've never seen me up here and I'm a girl.

Wow - what a story, and what a girl, Mary
Mary MacADNski: I am so impressed with her. I couldn't believe she managed a five hour fight. Lobster season has been over since June so she wasn't feeling particularly toned or strong. She was about to give up after five hours when she finally landed it!
What a great life to lead, Mary. They are indeed super women.
Mary MacADNski: Tara's been an award winning athlete all her life. She is a woman of great strength and especially endurance.
They are going to be eating Tunafish sandwiches for a long timegrin Nice picture of the two of them!
Mary MacADNski: That was exported immediately. Tara said she got one picture before it's head was cut off.
I've seen Tuna pass by when snorkelling and they move like a bullet - it's hard to believe until I witnessed their speed! That would've been one hell of a fight. Nice pictures and a great story for Friday smile
Mary MacADNski: Do you see blue fin out your way? Thanks for appreciating the pictures and story. I was so proud. The kid balancing on the board with 7 other things to look at got totally overlooked in my news of the week

It is not on that day that your arms refuse. It is two days later :-* There is some idea of likeness between the two.
Mary MacADNski: Lobster season has been over since June so she wasn't feeling particularly toned or strong. She was about to give up after five hours when she finally landed it! They do look alike and sound even more alike than they look alike.
I trust after all that they took the Tuna home for Tea, Dinner, Supper, Breakfast next morning etc.etc..... smile
Mary MacADNski: The tuna was exported immediately. Tara said she got one picture before it's head was cut off.
She sounds like a very determined young lady and well done her. Plenty of tuna for a while then.
Mary MacADNski: I was so proud of her extreme strength. The tuna was exported immediately. Tara said she got one picture before it's head was cut off.

Her arms may have been OK that afternoon but what about the next morning? I can't just imagine how many "selfies" are taken by people each day.

Great fun in the photos - and great luck on the blue fin!!
