Hanging On

"If a cat is frightened,

put your hand over its eyes and forehead

or let him bury his head in your armpit

to help calm him."

Purrl and Ruby have had their share of frightened moments in the last two weeks but all have fared unscathed during the two weeks sharing residence.  The children and/or I have been taking care of Alma and Mr. Pickles the rabbit every two days as well.

Terrific shot, Mary! She does look like she's hanging on for dear life!
Mary MacADNski: She is not up high but is frozen in a pose trying to avoid a child.

Love the expression Mary, I doubt if he is as frightened as you imagine
Mary MacADNski: There is a child nearby. I have the shots right after this one. She is not up high but is frozen in a pose trying to avoid one.
gringringringrin Love this. a lot of cats are great at going up trees but not good at getting down again!
Mary MacADNski: These two are getting better. Bella and Kenz were amazing and could leap from tree to tree.
Good pic', Mary, she does look rather out of her comfort zone...smile

This shot says it all, Mary. I wonder if that is where the phrase 'fraidy cat' comes from.
Mary MacADNski: Kenz and Ruby, the other new cat, are what I would call a fraidy cat or a scaredy cat. They are much shyer creatures.
Malgré qu'il soit effrayé, c'est une photo magnifique !

She's getting bigger as we apeak...
Mary MacADNski: I got to see her brother and sister last week. She is the same size as the larger (at birth) male. Ruby is still the tiniest one.
Great capture Mary! I love the pose.

Wow, talk about body language. This is a great shot of your cat.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Astrid. Moments later she was off running across the lawn.
An eye opener Mary... don't know much about cats.. love the way you have captured this thought
Mary MacADNski: I have always had a cat. I get them in twos.
She does look a bit shocked! Interesting to read how to help them feel safe.
Mary MacADNski: They will automatically put their eyes in close to you. Basically you just help them along.
Her facial expression is so telling. Great shot, Mary!
Mary MacADNski: She is ready for take offf!
