This is really a lovely image.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Jacquelyn. It looks crooked but that is the feeder that hangs on an angled frame.
Oh Mary this is so wonderful!!!!
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Elizabeth. Seeing if she can hover a bit so her feet don't have to touch the plastic perhaps.
Vous avez déclenché votre appareil au moment parfait. C'est un ange qui passe smile
Mary MacADNski: Right place, right time. Thanks.

Magic, Mary! Have you stopped feeding them altogether?
Mary MacADNski: No, not completely but not at these feeders on the deck. The new kitties like to hunt, sadly. I still feed crows regularly and the song birds when I know the cat's won't be out, when I am at work for example or a stormy day.

What a wonderful picture. Did you stop feeding, because the snow is too high to go through??
Mary MacADNski: No, I just shoveled paths to the feeders other years. I am not feeding the birds regularly because these cats are showing signs of hunting. It would be like leading the birds for slaughter.

Awwww. That's so sweet, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: She is happy to have a bite to eat in the cold temperatures at that time.

A lovely shot. I hope you're still feeding them now!
Mary MacADNski: No, just sometimes and I feed crows regularly. I don't want to feed them when I have cats that want to hunt them.
this is pure winter, the US gets it this week
Mary MacADNski: We are having rain and it will be 10 degrees later. Crazy winter so far.
Wow, that took me my surprise! Marvellous shot Mary smile
Mary MacADNski: I love the blue hour and am always up but don't often take shots then. I promised I would this year but haven't yet.
A wonderful shot,Mary !
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Thanks, Frank. The crookedness is supposed to be here. The feeder hangs crookedly and the wood is a brace for the stick holing the feeder.

What a great capture; I especially like the colour I bet the birds loved this, too. Are you not feeding the birds now?
Mary MacADNski: I am afraid the cats would hunt the birds so don't want to draw them here any longer. The colour is thanks to the blue hour always more noticeable in winter.
wow..I like the shape of the birdhouse too
Mary MacADNski: My son gave me this hand made pottery birdfeeder in '96. It is a remarkable piece. The maker showed him several times how he could drop it and it would not be likely to break. The squirrels ate the wooden stick that was going through it and I replaced it with a plastic straw. It hangs on wire that is built through the ceramic and I have it taped at a bit of an angle to try to save it.
Aw, so sweet. I hope he was wearing his winter feather coat; it looks rather cold. Is that a painted bird in flight on the feeder, Mary, or am I just seeing a spot not covered in snow?
Mary MacADNski: This was just before a very cold spell last January. It is a bird in flight and is a remarkable piece. My son gave me this hand made pottery birdfeeder in '96. The maker showed him several times how he could drop it and it would not be likely to break. The squirrels ate the wooden stick that was going through it and I replaced it with a plastic straw. It hangs on wire that is built through the ceramic and I have it taped at a bit of an angle to try to save it.

Great capture
Mary MacADNski: Thank you.
Lovely picture Mary. Don't you feed the birds any more?
Mary MacADNski: I am afraid the cats will hunt them. There are plenty of people feeding birds in the area though. I still feed crows.
lovely colour composition Mary..
Mary MacADNski: This is the blue hour that happens twice a day in winter. It is an awesome time to be alive.
Very well caught Mary.
Mary MacADNski: I was trying out a camera that I bought and then returned.
Lovely in so many ways...
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Larry. The blue hour is always nice.
This is so wonderful Mary!
Mary MacADNski: The blue hour is certainly a special time.
