Temporary Control

This large breakwater was placed here as a temporary measure but a large cement wall has replaced some of the bank that is to my right.

Another great POV Mary!
Mary MacADNski: All from the beach, unusual for this place.

Proper heavy duty shoring up, for very good reason!
Mary MacADNski: That is what the sandstone from Sunday's shot was doing temporarily. On this end of the island the sandstone is so soft. We need the hard stone from a mainland.
Fighting back! Trouble is the erosion just moves somewhere else
Mary MacADNski: I wish I had current shots of the new wall but do not. I will get down some day soon to get some.

I like your composition and perspective.
Mary MacADNski: Thank you, Philine. For the last three, I was on the beach. The usual shots of this lighthouse are from the land.
We are getting closer Mary, I don't think that you have been spotted yet.
Mary MacADNski: I have shots from one time or another with people up there. It is free to go up and the view is great.
Following your reply to me yesterday I now realise this area must obviously be in danger of being lost to the sea, very much a problem where the underlying ground is of this type.
Mary MacADNski: What is alarming is how rapidly it is happening.

I wonder just how temporary they mean by temporary? I have a feeling that the rocks mya last longer than a manmade wall.
Mary MacADNski: I think I talked about that somewhere. These stones from the mainland ate meant to last. The sandstone that is beside it will not.
Fine compo, Mary!
Mary MacADNski: The three are very different than the one I posted in 2011.

Ultimately, the sea will have its way...
Mary MacADNski: Please read my reply (just written) to Alan about a lighthouse on the western side of the island
