Growing Concern

Above shows the first year I had planted lilies in a big iron pot in the yard. They were mystery lilies, unidentified varieties in a bag for an excellent price. They fill the pot better in the 2014 shot below. Some had been cut from here already as I grow flowers primarily for cutting. They were lovely last year too but I neglected to get a shot.

Your garden grows so beautifully, Mary
Mary MacADNski: Do you know those bachelor buttons were planted in this pot thirty-two springs ago? They have been self seeding all that time.

Perhaps that could become their recognised name "Unidentified Lillies". Amazingly, even I can recognise them as lillies.

[The SC meet on 3 Sep 2018 is confirmed.. Sir Tiff's birthday bash.]
Mary MacADNski: I liked the idea of not knowing what they would look like. The meet up seems so long away. I was so pumped for going this year.

A woman after my own heart - cutting flowers to enjoy inside too!
Mary MacADNski: Cutting is the primary reason I grow flowers. I collect vases and love filling them.
What a beautiful selection you got Mary, they must have come as a pleasant surprise.
Mary MacADNski: I loved the surprise. I liked the common burgundy with very different yellows.
These are great, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: Very cheery with a yellow and burgundy theme.

What gorgeous colours Many. Nature at its most imaginative.
Mary MacADNski: Burgundy was the similarity in these and in each, so different, it gives a really vibrant charge.
They certainly aren't modest!
Mary MacADNski: We would not like flowers to be modest would we?
Très joli bouquet sur la première photo.
Mary MacADNski: Ils sont si pleins de beauté d'été!
Just gorgeous, Mary!
Mary MacADNski: A delight for a surprise.

A mystery bag - sounds fun. Turned out that there were really beautiful ones among them.
Mary MacADNski: Only two types but really lovely colourful things.
