Musical Voyage

The best ever version of this wonderful Gershwin song from Porgy and Bess. I still have the vinyl so it sounds quite like this with a few hisses. This has been played here a few times too.  I keep playing my favorites with no apologies. This song and version is a masterpiece.

J'adore Gerswhin.
Mary MacADNski: I do too, Martine, especially Porgy and Bess.
Not wanting any rough weather in that overloaded skiff. Nice portrait for them smile
Mary MacADNski: This overloaded boat is acting as a tender, bringing some back to their cars.
it looks like the Poker Run is on a rum run Mary... love the shot...

i also love this song... i have been a Porgy and Bess fan for as long as i can remember...
i played Summertime on my trumpet out on the deck over the weekend....petersmile
Mary MacADNski: This fellow is bringing a group back to their cars. I too have been a fan of Porgy and Bess since the early 70's when I discovered it.
Got Bud Light... will travel! smile
A very fun photo!
Mary MacADNski: A crew going back to their cars. Can't leave the beer on the boat. Is he there yet?
Lots of people for that boat, Mary. I do hope they all made it to the very end! smile

And yes, that's a fabulous song...and voice!!!
Mary MacADNski: These were people leaving early, getting a ride back to their cars.

Everybody's happy on this voyage of adventure
Mary MacADNski: Some people leaving early, I'm afraid. People have to work at three or later and need to go in.
A nice group of lolly good fellows Mary! I love the song too.
Mary MacADNski: These are people having to go in early.

A well stacked sardine tin, Mary!
Mary MacADNski: These sardines are going in early, people doing a 3 to 11 or a dinner shift at a restaurant. Got to serve the institutionalized and tourists.

This boat is full of young people, and they seem to have much fun.
Mary MacADNski: These are people having to leave early and are getting a ride into the wharf.

A family event
Mary MacADNski: People leaving the party, probably going back to their kids or an afternoo/evening shift.
Sadly I'll have to miss the song Mary, I have been struggling the last few days for a good internet connection and am having to use my telephone.
Mary MacADNski: Bookmark it or send it to your email please. It is a wonderful version of the Porgy and Bess repertoire.
they are making the most of the sun, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: They are leaving for the day, probably going to a job or home to kids and chores.

They seem ready to rescue the lobster boat. Lots of advice being called backward and forward - I hope the boatsman ignores it.
Mary MacADNski: The boatsman is bringing this group to the wharf as they are leaving. Probably off to jobs and families as it is a Sunday.
Certainly well loaded isn't it.
Mary MacADNski: It is a fellow bringing a group into the wharf, off to work or family.
Plenty of beers.

always interested in your musical choices Mary
Mary MacADNski: I have all of Phoebe Snow's albums, collections, etc. She had such a unique voice and had a producer husband who knew his craft. The beer was on it's way home. This crew is being tendered to the wharf.

Looks to be a fair load for the boat. I like Porgy and Bess.
Mary MacADNski: The people are on their way to the wharf, off to work or family on a Sunday afternoon. I LOVE Porgy and Bess.
Looks like a refugee boat that's lost its way smile
Mary MacADNski: Ha ha ha. The people are being delivered to the wharf and the rest of the day in their busy lives with work and families.
Vinyl lives!
