Bits of Light

What a weekend. Today is Thanksgiving Day in Canada.  We celebrated yesterday with a wonderful harvest meal prepared to perfection by various family members.  Saturday's highlight was a walk in the woods. I am having serious trouble in understanding the new file system on windows 10 and think I may have lost all the photos from the woods walk.

a very mysterious image, Mary!
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving / Birthday celebration...
And I'm sure your photo's are there - good luck finding them!!
Mary MacADNski: Our family are all good cooks so the food was absolutely mind blowing. The Skype connection had a big lag but it was good to connect with the birthday girl.

sad I am sorry that W10 is not that userfriendly and I do hope that your pictures are somewhere... (Don't empty the trashcan)
Happy Thanksgiving and this is a wonderful picture.
Mary MacADNski: I have no problem taking them off a stick but a SD card is a different story.
Our American Thanksgiving comes at the end of November, Mary, as you know, and is still the time of the year I most miss. I'm so glad you got to share it with family.

I am putting off Windows 10 as long as possible!!!!
Mary MacADNski: It was a really great weekend. Saturday we went to the woods.

I loaded Windows 10 then went back to Windows 7. When they cease supporting it I'm going to forget Microsoft and get a Mac..
Mary MacADNski: My computer died last week and I had no choice but to start the new computer. The Mac has little storage, something I want a lot of.

Happy Thanksgiving Day, Mary. Your weekend sounds delightful. I'm sure your photos are on the PC somewhere and hopefully you will find them.

I got so fed up with Microsoft some years ago and went over to using Macs.

New operating systems can be a real pain in the butt sometimes. I've just got iOS10 on my iPhone and it now takes several key presses even to get to the unlock screen before I can do anything with it; very frustrating.
Mary MacADNski: The Mac does not have a lot of storage and is so much pricier. I don't agree with that concept at all.
Is that the same thanksgiving day that America has Mary. I love the contrast in this photo, a favourite of mine.
Mary MacADNski: Our Thanksgiving is on a Monday in October and the Americans hold theirs on a Thursday in November.
Enjoy thanksgiving. Windows 10 is not much loved. It isn't as bad as 8 and I have managed to get rid of most of the silly graphics
Mary MacADNski: I can't u[pload to where I want to. Now I have lost things.

So, your Thanksgiving didn't extend to Microsoft. I am still plunking away on XP. Teaching myself Linux Mint on the side. What old greedy Bill GAtes doesn't realise is that when he gets an urge for even more money, I have to cough up. Not only for his newest overprized and untested operating system, but then comes the extra's. Most of the application system I have worked with all the years, won't work with the MS system. So, I have to get new ones. This whole world of spending on unwanted stuff, invented by MS is most sickening. It is like buying a truck to transport goods for home needs, After 4 years, you have to abandon the truck and buy a new one. Since the new truck, doesn't use normal tyres anymore, you have to buy new tyres, because the new truck doesn't come with tyres. Your old good tyres doesn't go with the new truck - and so on, and so on ...

But your picture cures every negative thought I spewed - it is a likey.
Mary MacADNski: Like vehicles, I don't get into the guts of a computer so will purchase windows or apple I am sure. Thank you for the likey. I loved seeing the contrast here.
I fought against Microsoft trying to force W10 on me over the last year or so, for some it appears to be working o.k.but for a lot, so I read, it has messed them up. Unless I buy a new PC I will stay with W7 as long as possible.
Mary MacADNski: That is what I did till the end but my computer died last week.
You should have switched to Apple, Mary smile
Mary MacADNski: I do not like the low storage that the mac has and it's much higher price. I do have an ipad though.
your image certainly has my attention, Mary. i am sure you had a memorable time with your family and loved ones. sorry to hear about your windows troubles. i do not have that version though
Mary MacADNski: I downloaded some shots very easily last time but do not remember what I did!!!
