Beefy Bovines

I do enjoy watching the cattle in the back field. They are eating machines and rarely look up. When they do they get spooked easily.

I like Bovines very much, Mary. You have a fine action shot at the bottom.
Mary MacADNski: I love when they finally look up.
Les petits veaux sont très mignons.
Mary MacADNski: These beef cattle grow quickly.
Wonderful pastoral scenes Mary!
Mary MacADNski: We had milk cows instead at one time.

They look fine specimens. I like the coat on the brown one especially.
Mary MacADNski: Yes, he is partly from a curly type.

Often very attractive but not very intelligent critters
Mary MacADNski: Not very. The farmer had milk cows for years before. They were smarter and friendlier. The kids grew up with milk cows eating from their hands.

They must lose themselves in the pleasures of eating
Mary MacADNski: They do indeed. It never ends unless they are asleep.

They have so beautiful eyes. Haha, I love the jumping calf!
Mary MacADNski: It is nice when they look up so that we can see their eyes once in a while.
Amazing how they turn grass into beef Mary.
Mary MacADNski: Indeed they do. All day long, every waking moment.
You don't often see a bullock running like that
Mary MacADNski: This field are babies and mothers. They will be separated soon, I suppose.
I guess they would actually need to eat massive quantities of grass/fodder to even begin to start feeling full which is perhaps the reason they always seem to be eating.
Mary MacADNski: They have more than one stomach - eating machines.

And when one goes, they all go! Super pics.
Mary MacADNski: Yes, they do have some fun runs. I watch horses from my workplace and they certainly do what you suggest. I love watching them even more than watching these boring beef cattle.
I imagine that they have to eat pretty well continuously just to keep going!
Mary MacADNski: Yes, they are constantly rotated between fields.
Aren't they sweet!!
Mary MacADNski: They are skittish sadly.
