Golden Grasses

We have had a windy autumn so the leaves blew off the trees as they changed colour.  I find the landscape quite bare for 26 October when this was taken. Some autumns are more beautiful than others and one will come along again.

No matter the wind, the grasses along the water are one of the old faithfuls and always show off their gold.

With reading a lot about Leonard Cohen, I saw posted on a friends blog, Keep the Coffee Coming, this Nina Simone version of Suzanne. I love it!! It is my new favorite video.

1. Lovely scene.

2. Astonishing vid!
Mary MacADNski: The scene is from the commute.
I have another Nina coming up that might be more astonishing.
Beautiful colors!
Mary MacADNski: Yes, while they were visible. The last 4 out of 5 weekends have been windy.

The landscape really does look bare doesn't it
Mary MacADNski: Yes, for so early. Cruise ships flock here for the colours and were disappointed this year though the weather was great.

You must be disappointed to have had so little autumn colour in the trees this year. Ours lingers on; in fact a lot of trees are still green
Mary MacADNski: Yes. The last 4 out of 5 weekends have been windy. It makes a difference in the enjoyment of the short time before winter.

I love the long row of clouds.
A beautiful video - our newspapers are full of articles about this magic Leonard Cohen!
Mary MacADNski: I took this shot for that cloud. i WATCHED IT ALL THE WAY TO WORK AND THEN FOUND A GOOD PLACE TO PULL THE CAR OVER. Sorry!

Leonard Cohen is a national treasure that was loved world-wide. It is good that the music does not die with the performer.
A very different version of Suzanne
Mary MacADNski: Very different but with such great rhythm. I played and danced to this about 5 times yesterday.
indeed the branches are very bare, Mary. i like the blue of the sky though.
Mary MacADNski: The skies have been blue for sure. We have had some rain but not much.

As much as I enjoy the Autumn, I'm quite sad when the trees are finally denuded. W have still plenty of leaves although the wind is increasing.
Mary MacADNski: I like seeing the leaves for a while. Most autumns are like that but not every year can be like that.
Indeed it looks as though the majority of leaves have fallen, over here, round my way at least, autumn has only started to get serious.
Mary MacADNski: We pack summer into a short intense period. Spring and fall are only half seasons here.
Fall, my favorite time of the year.
Mary MacADNski: It is quite lovely here with good weather.
Love that cloud!
Mary MacADNski: I couldn't wait to stop! It was more beautiful from other places but they were inconvenient places to stop.
