photoblog image Feed Corn

Feed Corn

This corn was still not harvested last time I looked and supposedly there are quite a few acres of soybeans  not harvested because of our earlier snow.

I played Alison Krauss and Natalie MacMaster singing Get Me Through December earlier in the month.  This different version, though similar, is accompanied by photos of winter. Absolutely gorgeous!

Makes an effective image, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: The straight conversion pleased me.
Intricate patterns!
The video is, indeed, gorgeous!
Mary MacADNski: They always describe her as 'the voice of an angel'.

Voice, lyrics, pictures - all gorgeous, thank you, Mary
Mary MacADNski: Glad you appreciated it. The song does help me get through the month.

They are looking very ragged now aren't they
Mary MacADNski: Yes and is still all harvestable. I saw a combine out today.
Our December looks more like your image, Mary...not at all like your video. One December I've love to see snow again here where we live. The natives are so eager to get back to skating on the canals. (sigh)
Mary MacADNski: I saw a combine out today. We had rain and warm temps yesterday that washed away all out snow then it got cold enough to flash freeze the fields.

Is it too late now to harvest and so allowed to rot? I like the scenes in the video very much (and the title - hear, hear to that!) Christmas in southern England looks like it will be yet again mild, damp and grey.
Mary MacADNski: I am not sure what happens if it is unharvested. Perhaps it is still good for feed. I saw a combine out today so there may have been some harvesting going on. Our snow is all gone.

Makes for a very good abstract, a little of Jackson Pollock perhaps.
Mary MacADNski: I do like it myself.
I guess it is lost now but it makes a good picture
Some lovely winter scenes in the video
Mary MacADNski: Yes, aren't they lovely.

I wished we had some snow, a bit of real winter. I like your music very much. The main picture looks very German or Dutch. I agree with Ginnie and Alan.
Mary MacADNski: We had snow but it has been melted and washed away. They are predicting a white Christmas though, with snow coming Thurs/ Friday.
Does that mean this will all go to waste Mary?
Mary MacADNski: I don't know what happens to it if it is not harvested. Today a saw a huge double size combine on the road so I think some harvesting was going on.
i think it looks good in b/w, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: Thank you. I do agree.

Mary MacADNski: I have lots of her stuff but this song is special to me.

They make a great image Mary.
Mary MacADNski: The organic feel is evident.
What a shame about the unharvested beans Mary.
Mary MacADNski: I saw a combine on the road today, now doubt planning to of having finished a harvest.

The corn makes a great b&w shot. Love it.
Mary MacADNski: It works well. I like it a lot.
it's sad to see the harvest that was affected by the early snow Mary...
i'm sure that Alison Krauss and Natalie MacMaster will get you through December just fine...
i loved this version with so many beautiful winter scenes....petersmile
Mary MacADNski: Today is sunny and that helps, peter. Thank you. Natalie did not play on this version. I like the version with her best.
