Websday

Three or four shots in a row of this web had rainbow colours. I must say the shot looks remarkably better on my computer screen. Perhaps in this case I should have applied sharpening to the uploads.

Mary MacADNski: It is a bit wind blown.
They are fine, Mary, great shots of a difficult subject.
Mary MacADNski: It was really something in real life.

They look lovely with their rainbow tints, Mary - not easy to catch
Mary MacADNski: I was amazed I did catch teh rainbow as it is usually very difficult with many trials under my belt.

The colours are coming through, but no I don't sharpen my upload only on the computer beforehand if required.
Mary MacADNski: I did for years and complained once in a whil. I stopped completely and complain once in a while, like today. I don't sharpen anything otherwise.
Both are delightful as they are Mary, but as Mike says, if you can sharpen before you upload and then you can choose the quantity of sharpening you want to apply, it is an easy thing to overdue.
Mary MacADNski: I guess this is true in the finer points of editing but I straighten horizons only as a rule. Once in a while I have time to play, as I think of it.

It's great how you have captured the light on the web.
Mary MacADNski: I was quite taken with it after trying to catch the rainbows on so many things.

Nice spidey webs. My upload function has the "sharpen" box ticked, for a number of years now. I just take into account if and when I do something to a picture, pre-upload.
Mary MacADNski: I had that button ticked for years and complained once in a while. I stopped completely and still complain once in a while, like today. I don't sharpen anything otherwise.

Shutterchance and the like and especially Facebook will do a lot of compression to photos and will be nowhere near as good as when seen natively. All my photos are sharpened.
Mary MacADNski: I guess that is it. I don't sharpen beforehand or at all since I unticked the SC sharpen button about a year ago.

WOW textbook pictures, I so love these spiderwebs, it is art from nature. LOVE the DOF!!
Bound to look better on your local screen directly from the file - I'm not sure what further processing SC performs on the files it hosts.
always a majestic sight!
