June Days

We are looking at two different horse pastures. The one in the rear has the farmer exercising his racehorse. Harness racing is the sport practiced here on the island so horses pull their driver in a sulky.

Always worth looking through the bushes where you live, Mary. I get the impression over the years that it is very much horse contry
Mary MacADNski: This small community where I work has a dense population in particular but horses are a large part of the island landscape.
Trotting, as its called in Sweden, is very popular there.
Mary MacADNski: We have both trotting and pacing here and here too it is popular.
Harness racing (Or trotting as it is known here) is something I have never been to see but would like to
Mary MacADNski: Tourists love it as they see small tracks all over the place for exercising the race horses, as seen here, and want to see the real action.

Hah.. I like the two horses laying down; keeping a low profile in case they are roped in to the action, too.
Mary MacADNski: Different farms. I like that I can see two farms here.
Sometimes I am in a sulky...
Mary MacADNski: I run around until a sulky takes over.
A beautiful view through this lovely frame!!!
Mary MacADNski: I love it!

Liking this glimpse, Mary.

Are the harness races pacing or trotting?
Mary MacADNski: They have both types of horses and races here.
