Breakfast

Mr. Crow got a meadow vole for breakfast.

Years ago here, I showed a crow with a dead starling on a roof peak as well. They certainly are opportunistic.

Now that looks like a hearty breakfast to me
Mary MacADNski: It might feed a few in the family. Crows are never alone.

Well I never realised that crows went for such prey. It looks like it will provide a substantial meal for it.
Mary MacADNski: They are famous for taking care of road kill but also get things that are alive.
It'll never manage to eat all that surely Astrid.
Mary MacADNski: Crows are always in a group so it will be shared.
I've only gone and called you Astrid again Mary.
Mary MacADNski: I am getting used to it. We have similar SC names but our styles are very, very different.
Surely it won't be able to eat it right on the ridge of that roof.
Mary MacADNski: It fell off the other side. My nest photo showed it gone. Then the crow was gone.

Would he have picked this up as carrion, Mary?
Mary MacADNski: Carrion is a crow's usual diet but if one saw a mouse running across the snow, I'm afraid it too becomes breakfast.
Smart bird Mr Crow
It's a crow apocalypse...
