Field of View 16

This shot was up preposted many years ago, one in a series of at least 16.  It was bumped at the time and never made it back. The words below were from the day it was supposed to be posted. I post it today as it accompanies quite well the song I want to play.

Last year in mid June I was driving along the coast on a beautiful afternoon, windows open, everything warm and wonderful.  All at once I came apon a freezing cold pocket and an unusual ground fog.

The shot with the newly sprouted corn was taken a kilometer before, in the warm sunshine.

This fog and cold lasted a kilometer or less.

It's always good to rescue a straggler...
Mary MacADNski: Absolutely. smile I do like the feeling.
The post, as a whole is really wonderful... "old" photo or not!
Mary MacADNski: Thanks so much. I realize |I was describing something from a former picture in the series.
Fascinating to come across this cold area Mary. I can't listen to the song because I am in a hotel with poor broadband speed.
Mary MacADNski: It is a wonderful song. I found the cold fog very odd too.

The newly sprouted corn seems to be hiding from me, Mary...
Mary MacADNski: I realize I was describing an earlier photo in the series. I remember it too. and like it still.
I shiver just looking at it!
Mary MacADNski: It lasted only a few kilometers.

This is a facinating nature phenomenon you captured very well.
Mary MacADNski: It was really something to experience. I remember it well.

Strange how small an area it covered, Mary
Mary MacADNski: It was very odd. I returned home a bit later and there was not a drop of fog to be found on that lovely hot day.

Just a very small area of temperature inversion I guess. Very unusual, though.
Mary MacADNski: I still remember it well for it being so unusual.
Quite an amazing thing to come across.
