Breathe Deeply

Each morning when I wake, the house is a mixture of odours from several night-scented hoya blooms, several vases of daffodils, tulips and purple hyacinths. In a week or so, the open windows will add apple blossoms. Oh, spring!

I had a Hoya in Australia, but don't believe they grow at all in Thailand...pity that.

This is a great shot, Mary, and allows me to easily recall the delicate perfume of it.
Mary MacADNski: They grow in Vietnam, I know, perhaps are native there. I can't remember for sure. I have a red one in this room that almost knocks you out. I have six in all, with three of them encircling the kitchen.
Wonderful way to wake up, Mary!! What is your trick to keeping the cats out of the plants? Frank can't even buy me flowers... We have to put them waaaaay up high where they can't be enjoyed! (the plants... not the cats...) smile
Mary MacADNski: Since they are indoor cats perhaps they need a lot of cat grass. I've not ever had a cat touch a plant.
Lovely pic', Mary.
Mary MacADNski: I was going to add a shot of my red blossomed hoya to this post but never got back to it.

A beautiful thing indeed
Mary MacADNski: What a season! What a month!
A treat for the senses.
Mary MacADNski: This room is too highly scented to enter in early mornings now. That is why I have been coming later in the mornings.
You are enjoying the scents we enjoyed a few weeks ago

This is a lovely flower
Mary MacADNski: My daffs are on their way out and tulips are lovely now.
a pleasing shot, Mary. i am mildly envious after reading your description of waking up.
Mary MacADNski: Soon it will be lilacs from a very tall white lilac tree that almost brushes a bedroom window - the bedroom across from mine with the doors and windows open.

I lost my Hoya, and don't know where to buy another
Mary MacADNski: I would check florist shops. If you were near, I would give you some.
It's a lovely time of year! I've never heard of hoya - I'll have to look it up!
Mary MacADNski: It has blooms that are highly scented at night and it likes to cling/climb. I have them all over my house.
Words fail me looking at this Mary...
Mary MacADNski: I have a red one and will send you a shot that was meant to be here with this one.
