I see water and rocks, Mary...but, where are the fish and their ladders? smile
Mary MacADNski: Just made by the placement of rocks, Ray. There were several in different parts of the stream.
What do fish ladders look like?
Mary MacADNski: These are small ones in a stream made by the strategic placement of pebbles. You can tell by the stone that I am not on the island.

A sensible thing to do
Mary MacADNski: A Japanese family had made several in the stream.

Good for them. There's a high fish ladder on Washington's Lake Washington Ship canal. The ladder has glass panels at the side and you can see the salmon climbing up through them - a fascinating sight.
Mary MacADNski: That would be awesome to see. These are made simply by the placement of stones.
They could fit a stairlift for the older fish Mary
Mary MacADNski: I'm hoping that is their next project.

That large boulder looks odd there.
Mary MacADNski: I found it fascinating.
That's a good idea, they are used over here to help the Salmon when they return to their spawning grounds.

Well all fish not good with ladder climbing, will be available on dry land. Pick-a-salmon.
I declare! I love the thought, Mary.
I suppose it creates pools that they can leap into??

WOW, that is very thoughtful. We have these too in some canals for eel. I love that big rock in dead centre of the river.
