photoblog image Oat Straw

Oat Straw

Quite a bit of the grain crop has been harvested. Pretty scenes like this become commonplace. This field held oats and my neighbour's crew picked up the bales after dinner.

A seriously gorgeous agriscape, Mary.

I really like the wildflower veil just in front of your lens.
Mary MacADNski: The late wildflowers are so beautiful. Thank you.

Nice to see it safely gathered in

It's a similar scene here Mary, frenetic activity between the rainy days. I like that song, have it by Bob Dylan.
Mary MacADNski: Bob wrote this and does a marvelous job of this very fine song.
A really pleasant harvest scene.
Mary MacADNski: More from the fields later this week.

A familiar site here, too, Mary. Always good for a photograph, and yours is lovely

I do like to see the fields with the bales of straw in; the old trailer adds to the shot.
Mary MacADNski: The hay wagon was filled shortly after this.
A lovely rural scene Mary
Mary MacADNski: Right in my neighbourhood, so beautiful.
It is a pretty scene, Mary. I like the flowers in the foreground...
Mary MacADNski: Queen Anne's Lace and Goldenrod look spectacular at this time of year.

A lovely end of summer image Mary.
Mary MacADNski: Weather is changing and the days are dwindling into evenings - harvest time.
Nice fall scene... especially with the wagon right there.
Mary MacADNski: A bit after this, the wagon was filled and gone.
Looks as though it has been a good harvest.
Mary MacADNski: With drought, all crops are smaller in size it seems. Only late crops like feed corn and soybeans can achieve any great yields.
