photoblog image Avian Swimmers

Avian Swimmers

Two views of the downtown Barrie, Ontario beach. My cousin told me it was well used in the summer but though it was in the twenties, school was in session.

I found a most wonderful version of a live Joni Both Sides Now. It was on an American talk show so there is an interview sandwiched between two songs from the album's release - with an orchestra.

i like the first shot with its treatment, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks. It seemed to fit.
I love the top photo - great choice for a twiddle!
And I'm enjoying the music very much... so beautiful!
Mary MacADNski: With Joni's 74th birthday this week, I marvel and remember so well, this album's release. I gifted and was gifted these CD's. Joni lovers unite, I guess.

I like both images, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: I'm glad of that then.

The music...Wow...what a great find!
Mary MacADNski: I really enjoyed the upload. Rosie has been a lifelong JM fan.
J'aime beaucoup la vue de la deuxième photo.
Mary MacADNski: I can imagine it in summer as the city would have lots of kids using it.

I bet it looks a little more crowded than this when the kids aren't at school
Mary MacADNski: Barrie is a large enough city that I am sure this is well-packed in summer.
In the first image, Mary, you've made the place look timeless!
Mary MacADNski: I have only a few of these and don't use them often bur sometimes one is just right.

That's the time to go there, Mary
Mary MacADNski: We had a wonderful walk. My cousin talks even more than I do and we talked with several people we met on the walk.

I like your view through the trees especially. With the schools back in session, that would be my time to head for the beach. The beach looks to be well manicured. I'll have to come back to the Joni Mitchell clip tomorrow as I'm out for the rest of the day.
Mary MacADNski: I would think this city beach on a fresh water lake is well looked after.
Nice twiddle Mary.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Bill.

That top picture is smashing!
Mary MacADNski: I have only a few of these filters and don't use them often but sometimes they come in handy.
To be honest tbis is how we like a beach to be, mainly to ourselves.
Mary MacADNski: All beaches are like that here if you know when or where to go.

I especially love the second image!
Mary MacADNski: That was the first glimpse, of course.

I love your treatment of the top image, it works really well.
Mary MacADNski: It did work there. The gulls themselves looked a little woebegone.

Great music with these fun pictures. Always nice to see the seagulls taking a bath...It looks like a nice beach to be in summer.
Mary MacADNski: Fresh water, not a treat for me having grown up around it. I have salt water in my veins now.
Nice treatment, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: It worked on taming the harshness of the birds.

The birds seem to like it.
Mary MacADNski: I know. It kind of disgusts me to think people swim in it.
Plenty of bird life in both pics!
Mary MacADNski: It is the same place only seconds apart and a twist of the lens.
I like the old-torn-photo processing...
Mary MacADNski: It suited the harshness of the scene.
