Clear vs Unclear

My filing system indicates this is a crop of another shot. It is of my pond.

The heron blends with the sticks nicely...
Mary MacADNski: It is resting on one foot.

I think you have shown us this before, Mary...no matter, though, as Blue herons are wonderful to look at.
Mary MacADNski: Not the best but I like how it is standing on one leg. They are gone for the winter here.
Great capture! I love the reflection!
They are not elegant eaters!
Mary MacADNski: I do not see this behavior at all as they eat small fish and frogs as this is basically now a nursing pond.
that was surely some video to watch, Mary. a fine shot that you presented with the reflections.

Jolie photo de ce héron avec le reflet.
Mary MacADNski: They are common here from spring till fall then they migrate to southern climates.
There's nothing quite like seeing a heron standing like that...usually all alone!
Mary MacADNski: This is a common sight on the pond but my equipment does not handle distance well.

How fortunate to have a pond sporting a Heron, Mary
Mary MacADNski: Now if I only had the proper camera equipment to handle it.

How lovely to have a pond like this in your garden. The heron likes its perch and hopefully enjoys some pickings from the pond.
Mary MacADNski: This is a sleeping spot and a snacking area.

They are such experts at spearing fish
Mary MacADNski: Yes, but we don't see large fish like this being eaten, only small fish and frogs.
He looks very alert
Mary MacADNski: Always aware of what is happening.

They are like gannets Mary.
Mary MacADNski: I do not see the similarity in the two species other than they like fish. A heron does not live at sea ever.
I suspect your pond must be quite large Mary.
Mary MacADNski: It gets smaller and smaller every year.

This bird may find a fine hideout between the white branches.
Mary MacADNski: It is in a great spot to rest in the sun and see the fish go by.
Lovely shot, Mary - you are lucky to have nature so close to hand!
Mary MacADNski: I am supremely grateful for that, Tom
