Souris Beach 2

A view of the same beach as last Monday but taken from the other end of the beach.

A few years ago kd lang did an album of songs by other Canadians.  This song written by Jan Siberry was my favorite on the album. The studio album was a bit more dramatic.

In addition to a fine set of images, Mary, you give us ks lang and Jane Siberry, two of my favorite singers. Thank you!
Mary MacADNski: This song is out of this world for me.
I love the B&W!!
And I love the k.d. Lang...
Mary MacADNski: I like certain aspects of each this week. I miss the bits of light that are visible in the coloured waves. I love kd too. Saw her recently on something.
Hymns from the 49th Parallel...one of the greatest album ever, Mary, and one we play often! Good choice from it.

As to the image, the color makes it seem so much more calm, cool and collected.
Mary MacADNski: Oh, I agree. I gave it as gifts to several people. I like the colour too as I see bits of light in the waves that are missing in the b/w.

Black and white wins today, Mary
Mary MacADNski: I am preferring the colour but see things I like in the b/w very much too.

The b&w image is a fine one
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Chris. It misses an important aspect of light for me. The light in the waves is missing.

A robust sea.
Mary MacADNski: It was a beautiful early winter day that felt like summer with the cold wind that came with the tide could be felt.
Works well in B&W

KD LAng is a fine singer
Mary MacADNski: kd is sublime, no voice will ever match hers. I prefer the colour for one aspect - light in the waves. It is missing in the b/w version.

Great white horses (foaming waves) on this sea.
Mary MacADNski: I love that description. Giddy up!

I really like the colour version, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: That is my favorite but we are outvoted so far.
Another two fine images, this time I prefer the colour one, the foreground grasses bottom right stand out a bit too much in the mono version.
Mary MacADNski: We are a small minority, Brian. The colour shows the light in the small wave about to break and I took the shot for that. It can not be seen in the black and white version.

The waves on the b&w image seem to be rougher and stronger.
Mary MacADNski: That is very true. They are noticed more too because there is no change of colour to contend with like the other.

Great music, we once saw her life in concert in Amsterdam... what a show.
I love the waves and I think I like them in B&W better.
Mary MacADNski: I would love to see her live. She has Canada's best voice.
Looks great in mono!

I like the swell to the sea. The main image gives more drama than the colour version.
Once again I believe that the black and white image in this case is to be preferred. It is my opinion of course.
