They are at the end of their road
Mary MacADNski: The top one is perfection for the birds eating the seeds but the bottom one has been finished.

Blooms might be spent, but are still gorgeous, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: The top one has lots of seed and has just been started as a dinner for the birds. All will be empty by the end of the season. What they drop to the ground becomes next year's sunflowers.

That song is so well known but I never knew who wrote it. So,e songs just hit the mark, whether or not they are great compositions.
Mary MacADNski: I love this song and sing it in my head a lot.
It loks good even though its best days were over.
Mary MacADNski: The birds have finished one but are just getting started on the other.
Nature can still look good even when it is in decay
Mary MacADNski: Yes, and the birds appreciate the seeds.

I think the sun flower is aging in a fine way.
Mary MacADNski: Yes, and by spring the seeds will all have been eaten.
I had never seen a sunflower in those conditions, in any case a beautiful image.
Mary MacADNski: The top one has lots of seed and will be eaten by the birds. All of the seeds will begone by the end of the season. What the birds drop to the ground, becomes next year's sunflowers.
Striking flowers... that song was a big hit when I was a kid...
Mary MacADNski: I love that song and sing it all the time. It is such a happy song. The birds love the sunflower seeds.
