photoblog image Watery Wednesday

Watery Wednesday

An unfrozen pond will have to do in place of a river but this song by Joni Mitchell is a favorite of many.

Addition on Tuesday: We are to get 15 cm of snow on Thursday but it will likely turn to rain.

My daughter will get the same storm, a nor'easter, on Wednesday.

The pond will probably look like this then, for a while tomorrow.

gobsmacked
Mary MacADNski: Snow is pretty sometimes ans always at this time of day.
Very nice, Mary. That Joni will go far.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Frank. I wish Joni was still singing for us but she certainly rings through my house.

it feels like this is so far out in the wilderness

beautifully photographed
Mary MacADNski: This is off my deck, not too far off.
Beautiful... complements your Cuidado photo very well...
Mary MacADNski: I took my aunt for a walk to see the frozen ocean in that Cuidado shot. The storm is to hit late Thurs afternoon and go through the night. It may end in rain again which is fine with me.
Lovely frosty shot, Mary! Good luck with the snow and the nor'easter. Stay safe and warm!

Are you pleased it will probably turn to rain, Mary? Our snow here in the south has gone, but the north is still suffering
Mary MacADNski: I would prefer rain but so many have missed snow sports this winter that I kind of feel for them. What ever happens, will happen. I am always easy.
Joli paysage hivernale.
Mary MacADNski: Off my deck. It is pretty in these conditions.
I wouldn't mind getting another BIG snowstorm, Mary, since we only had one weekend of it back at the beginning of December. Winters aren't like how I remember them growing up. (sigh)
Mary MacADNski: So many people have missed their snow sports this winter that I feel for them. For them, I wouldn't mind but I have to work and driving is a pain.

Those firs are laden with the stuff!
Mary MacADNski: Yes, it looks like a wet, heavy snow.

We are not quite out of the winter woods yet, but nothing expected on this scale.
Mary MacADNski: They are still calling for a mix here so we don't know what will happen before tomorrow.

It does look like it is far out in wolf country - but I believe it still is PEI. Thanks for this great shot.
Mary MacADNski: Right off my deck, Louis. The wildest things out there are coyotes, foxes, raccoons and skunks.
YOu will have to nip out and capture the pond when the ice has formed again Mary, mind you I've no complaints about seeing this lovely winter scene.
Mary MacADNski: I have had ice all winter though it is half gone now. There is no snow yet though. This was taken another year.

Oooh it looks soooo cold!
Mary MacADNski: If it is wet and heavy it probably is on the warm side, believe it or not.
i heard about your nor'easter and thought about you Mary... what a lovely composition... our spruce trees look exactly like that until we get a big wind to blow of the snow we have been getting lately....petersmile
Mary MacADNski: I got home from work on day one but it is supposed to backtrack and hit us again tomorrow. My bag is packed.

Snow...real snow on trees..... it is almost like you live in a postcard.
A classic I would say. Fabulous.
Mary MacADNski: I actually do live in a postcard.

What a beautiful scene. I bet the birds appreciate the opportunity to enjoy the water clear of ice.
Mary MacADNski: I have always had two pairs of mallard but am now down to one pair. Herons will be back soon and another person has had their first red-winged blackbird. Not me though yet.
Love this one Mary. They are threatening snow here but I doubt we will get any...I hope
Mary MacADNski: I drove home through our storm but it is supposed to spiral and hit us tomorrow in a worse way.
Yes, really a blue hour, you managed to convince even the white snow smile
Mary MacADNski: Outside my door - probably letting the cats out.
