Greenwich Stairs

Shapes are more evident in the black and white photo

but it is nice to see the bright colour of a perfect beach day

once through the dune land.

To very different moods with the two shots, Mary. Great version of 'You want it darker'.
Mary MacADNski: Yes, different moods altogether. Yes, this piece was a very good part of the whole tribute.
Both are interesting photos, particularly with the color of the clothes.
Mary MacADNski: Yes, the colour makes them very different.

For once, I prefer the black and white version - the definition all round is more noticeable
Mary MacADNski: It shows more shapes and shadows for sure.
I think I like the color in this one, Mary - just gives a "feeling" of happy days
Mary MacADNski: It was a happy day - the first real beach day of the year. Yeah, summer!

The b&w is very good
Mary MacADNski: If the figure were a bit lighter I would be more pleased.

Again I go for the B&W. I love that picture. Don't get me wrong, the coloured one would be great in the album 'Beach 2018'....
Mary MacADNski: You hit it on the head.

I thought that the lady had a film star look about her until I saw the colour version.
Mary MacADNski: She would love that comment.
Give me the sunshine any day !
Mary MacADNski: It was such a grand day!

Both excellent, Mary, but evoke different emotions in me.
Mary MacADNski: This is very true of this pairing.
It's strange how different things stand out in one version compared with another.
Mary MacADNski: It is very much so this week.

I like the drama of the black and white version.
Mary MacADNski: Lots of dramatic shadow play in that version, yes.
It is just as you say Mary
Mary MacADNski: It would be good to keep that in mind.
I do like the B&W version, Mary!
Mary MacADNski: I am glad you do.
Works well in black and white
Mary MacADNski: Quite a different feel, eh?
I like the black and white version, it makes the scene almost dramatic, from Hitchcock's movie
Mary MacADNski: A bit of light on the figure would be nice.

Mary MacADNski: It was a beautiful day, the first real beach day of the year.

I like the strong contrast in the b&w but you will not be surprised that I prefer the colour version as there is more detail apparent - in the shorts, for example.
Mary MacADNski: It could improve easily with editing.
those are tall and healthy dunes Mary... i love the comparison... the shadows are more distinct in the b&w shot....petersmile
Mary MacADNski: These compare very differently, not like some weeks.
