The colour shot is wonderful, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: I prefer the black and white one in this case.
either of these are spectacular. Like these shots a lot!!
Mary MacADNski: Down on my knees for this one.
Both images are really gorgeous, Mary - can't pick a favorite!

I'm afraid Melanie's voice is a little screechy and harsh for my taste...
Mary MacADNski: I had all of Melanie's albums, a big fan. Takes me right back to those times too. I prefer the black and white shot this week.

You can almost see little reflections in the rain drops, Mary
Mary MacADNski: I have only 60 mm but if I had the big guns like Ray....

The rainpearls are glittering.
Mary MacADNski: We are getting rain now and are happy for it after none over summer.

Love the natural lenses
Mary MacADNski: They help heat the soil too.
Prefer the colour here.

I always liked Melanie. The rest of my family did not
Mary MacADNski: I like the black and white. My mother liked all my music but Moody Blues. I never understood that.

It is mysterious in the top picture but benign in the lower.
Mary MacADNski: So far everyone else likes colour. I strongly prefer the b/w.
B/w, brooding, colour happy..What a difference. I'd forgotten what a nice voice Melanie has. Had to smile at the audience though. Hippy days...smile
Mary MacADNski: Those were happy days. smile I like the b/w here.
It works as a good picture both ways.
Mary MacADNski: A small focus area but It works.

The b&w has an air of wonder about it. Melanie - well, difficult to say. Probably the recording, but her voice has a tinny quality when she hit the high notes. So I searched a more recent video and found one where she sang Ruby Tuesday in 1975. Sounds very good. But you probably posted this one for the lyrics, which are just great.

In my search for other music by her, I came across the fact that her full name is Melanie Anne Safka-Schekeryk. Live and learn.
Mary MacADNski: I rarely see the videos but play them while I am busy somewhere else. I adored her but you are right, her voice did not appeal to everyone.
Works well in B&W
Mary MacADNski: I prefer the b/w too, Tom.

The textures and the subtle colour variations just don't show in the b&w version, The water droplets work well, though.

I had the pleasure of seeing Melanie at the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival.
Mary MacADNski: I prefer the b/w. I see things without the colour better sometimes. Last Monday a single raindrop really stood out in b/w but not in colour.
