I've found a new steady hiking partner and we are out every moment we can manage. Today we walked to our local beach, a very short walk. We try to do 10 kilometer a day but vary anywhere from 6.6 to 14. The walk we took on Friday, part of which is shown here, is our steeply hilliest one and my favorite. This shot shows three of the hills. The land in the distance is Nova Scotia.
Up and down, up and down. It's a pleasure don't you think? It is on An Island Walk.

l imagine it gets hard to walk when winter sets in, but with views like this hiking, would be easy at the moment
Mary MacADNski: Most of this road is not plowed in winter. I winter I snowshoe which is the most fantastic activity you can do. Ok, ONE of the most fantastic activities you can do.
Beautiful colours, Mary. I like the little glimpses of the trail though the trees.
I hadn't realised until now how close you are to Nova Scotia.
Mary MacADNski: That's just why I put this particular shot up - to show the steepness. The middle hill is so steep that they put about 6 meters of pavement on it to keep it from washing out.
Wow Mary..I didn't realise how close you are to Nova Scotia either. You must know your island pretty well by now.Your autumn colours are about the same as ours here in Wales. I shall now look at the Google map to explore the island. Nice one Mary.
Mary MacADNski: The ferry to Nova Scotia is 22 km. so we're not to far. I'm glad to hear Wales is as far advanced as we are. I keep hearing from England that they are just beginning.
