They look like something artificial but of course they are not
Mary MacADNski: Not at all. It is a fairy's pink pearls that have fallen off.
A pleasing combo of textures and forms Mary.
Mary MacADNski: Yes, lots of texture and form. The best kind of death and decay.

Never before I saw such 'mushrooms' looking like rose-coloured pearls! A fine photo of the tree bark -fallen trunk, too - a fine biotope!

You have ome very intersting fungi in Canada Mary, I've never seen anything like this here. Look at the structure of the rotting wood too!
Mary MacADNski: I spend a lot of time in the woods and if you look hard enough...

Looking at the fibres in the tree, I would say that these are very small. Fascinating to see them and that colour, too.
Mary MacADNski: They are about the size of real pearls.

It is not only flowers and butterflies that provide colour in nature. Sometimes on tend to overlook the contributions of lichen and fungi. These are beauties.
Mary MacADNski: I have always loved them. They are a beautiful example of death and decay.
I like the detail of the rotting wood fibres and the patterns of fungi, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: It is such a lovely sight when you are down on your knees and the smells of the forest are all around you.
They really are very attractive.
Mary MacADNski: The fairy's perfect pearls are simply delightful!

Mary MacADNski: Stress balls for woodland fairies. They are tiny little things.
They look like a variety of puff-ball - nice shot, Mary.
