Big Changes in the West

My son and family begin a huge adventure today. He starts a big job across the continent in Seattle, Washington. I can't believe how far that is. They were living in Ontario, only 1800 kms away; now they're almost 6000 kms from here.

This gives me a grand excuse to visit a place I have always wanted to go so I won't complain. I've traveled just north in BC but not out to the islands and Seattle.

It's a gorgeous sight, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: It is symbolizing the west, where part of my family is heading.
Gorgeous orange colors in this sky! I hope your son and family will enjoy Seattle! I've only been twice, but loved both visits!
Mary MacADNski: It is a beautiful coast. I've been to the Pacific in Canada and Mexico but not the US.

A big move for you to contemplate, Mary, but it will be great for you to visit
Mary MacADNski: It is very different being that far. You could come for a wedding or funeral for a weekend easily. Now there is a 4 hour time difference instead of 1 and things like that.

Fabulous sun setting in the West, Mary...or rising, whichever the case may be, as your son starts a new life. Now you get to travel again! And we'll be the lucky recipients of what you see and experience. Congratulations.
Mary MacADNski: You got it, Ginnie. It is the west, where they are headed. I had no idea that the last time I was at their beautiful home in Ontario last summer, that it would be the last time.

I do plan to visit them though for sure.

This is a fine picture Mary. Best of luck to your son & family!
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Chris. Symbolizes the west and big tree, little ones underneath.

a dreamy photo - sunrise for your son and his family and yourself - I wish you a good week!
Mary MacADNski: This is a sunset symbolizing the west, where they have moved. The big tree with the smaller ones underneath symbolizes my family.
Glorious silhouettes and sunset, Mary!
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Martin.

The colours are just fabulous. Please take your chance and make the travels east..... I know, it is almost the same distance as from Amsterdam to Atlanta.....
Mary MacADNski: They have moved west - four hour time difference now.
What a wonderful sky, Mary. I hope all goes well for your son and his family.
Mary MacADNski: I'm sure it will go well but it is a very big move, with kids enrolled in school.

Embracing change can be very exciting and rewarding - only an extra hour or two in the air!

Enjoy Seattle Mary ;o)
Mary MacADNski: They now live four hours difference in time zone. I have an early wakening and bedtime so we will only be able to talk or skype on weekends. Otherwise we have email. Will be weird for us who have been 1 hour difference for 12 years.

What an excellent shot. Son must have received a huge raise to want to travel that far. But then, even when moving to neighbouring town, uprooting is uprooting. May his move prove to be a good one.
Mary MacADNski: He has other rewards than money with this move. They are a unique family and have a path.
Nice....
wow..this is just amazing..guess another trip to Seattle is coming up..
Mary MacADNski: I've been only north, in British Columbia which is in Canada. Seattle is near the border.
wow..this is just amazing..guess another trip to Seattle is coming up..
Mary MacADNski: I do look very much want to go there too from stories of a friend who spent a lot of time there.
Love how the bare tree branches are silhouetted so beautifully against that amazing sky.

I've heard that Seattle is a happening place full of fun things to do, Mary, so I'm sure your son & family will enjoy their adventure, as you will, too, when you visit.
Mary MacADNski: Fall and winter can bring some marvelous skies. I was all for that choice from the beginning.
Wonderful sunset Mary, I'm sure we all wish your son and his family every success, can't wait to see your first pictures from there.
Mary MacADNski: It will be a while. We usually alternate years and I visited him last.
great warmth this has to it
Mary MacADNski: Though it was cold as can be - mid winter.
I wish him all the best in his big move. Beautiful sky Mary
Mary MacADNski: Thanks for the wishes and yes, what a sky.
It is hard to get the brain round the idea of ONLY 1800 km. The longest journey yo can do in this country is Lands End to John O Groats which, by road, is 1400km!

Love the picture
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Bill. It seems very crowded there but the villages look so small.
Beautiful silhouette Mary. A big change for your family indeed, but maybe a chance to explore some new places and photo opportunites
Mary MacADNski: Yes! We all look forward visiting the 'left coast'. I have been to British Columbia, which is just north and a province of Canada.
Best of luck to your son and family in their new venture Mary!
Splendid capture.
Beauuuutiful sky, we had a similar one last weekend, guess what I left my camera at home!
