Really stands out in the b & w.
Mary MacADNski: It really did in person too.
I love how bright it is in the B&W image!
Mary MacADNski: It is always a surprise to me.

In the top image the rocks look like coal.
Mary MacADNski: I can see what you mean.
I do personally prefer the top image Mary, the lower one loses the whiteness oft he smaller rock.
Mary MacADNski: It is always a surprise.

A great b&w, with strong contrasts.
Mary MacADNski: It worked well, eh?
Definitely choose the black and white, greater detachment and drama of the image.
Mary MacADNski: Black and white often gives drama when some is needed.

It's amazing how this stands out more in the B&W, Mary.
I love both options, the reddish one are beautiful colours.
Mary MacADNski: Not the best light with the colour but the black and white did convert well.

The black & white photo is very fitting. what a find!
Mary MacADNski: I have had several beach finds over the years, I must say.
i liked the black and white shot more, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: It adds some needed drama.
Works much better in B&W
Mary MacADNski: Seems to be this week's consensus.

both are very fine images
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, sherri. Rock often works well with straight b/w conversion.
It reminds me of slate, Mary, except for the color.
