He doesn't appear to have the usual fear of human contact.
Mary MacADNski: No fear at all of humans. I stood right beside him. He wants a kitty for dessert.
This fox wouldn't mind a pussy meal about now.
I like this image a lot, Mary. Looks like an English fox...perhaps an import?
Mary MacADNski: Ha! That's what he comes here for - always hoping. Red foxes are native here as well, Ray.
Wow, I'm used to mangy Kent and London foxes, and have never seen one with such long fur, in perfect condition.
He really does look calm. Superb image
Mary MacADNski: They are usually healthy here. We don't have rabies on the island and they have no predators here. There was a huge fox fur industry here and in the late eighties the prices plummeted. The farmers opened their cages as it was too expensive to feed them for no return.
Lovely image Mary Yhis is so much like a local fox with long fur. Here in Scotland he would be eyeing up lunch maybe a local farmers chickenshed. This lttle chap looks very friendly and relaxed love those ears well done.
Mary MacADNski: He is here a lot eyeing the cats. One of the cat's favorite sleeping spots is on the back of a chair next to a window overlooking a part of the deck. Fox is often seen sitting there looking in. I raised ducks for years and foxes were really an awful problem as they are to the wild ducks that are on my pond.
He's a fine specimen Mary and as Aussie says seems unconcerned by people
Mary MacADNski: He wants food and yes he is beautiful looking.
Calm and collected he may be but his back paws are j u s t on the porch ! He / she is beautiful.
Mary MacADNski: I took dozens of photos of him some completely on the deck directly beside me. He's very tame when wanting food. Lots of people think it is cool to hand feed foxes. I am not one and will not feel wildlife. We have a lot of foxes around.
Beautiful image Mary. He/she doesn't seem to be bothered by humans presence! I like the unusual long fur.
Mary MacADNski: He is being fed by someone in the neighbourhood and would like one of my cats for dessert.
cunning Fox
Mary MacADNski: Bad boy!!!
Good capture Mary, we had a tame fox family at my previous house, came for a few years and then disappeared.
Mary MacADNski: In the mid eighties the fox farmers opened their cages because of low prices. These former captive fellows had to compete in the wild and came to houses. People felt sorry for them and fed them. It's been going on for years. Personally I won't feed them. I have photos of one chasing my cat. They come onto the deck and sit by a window with my cat sleeping on the other side. He is very tame. I know someone in the neighbourhood who feeds them.
Wow! Dangerously close! He is really dangerous? You continue choosing good songs to accompany your photos!
Mary MacADNski: He comes on my deck looking for my cats to eat. He is dangerous to the cats. Thank you about the music. I love, love, love, music!.
Él viene en mi cubierta que busca mis gatos para comer. Él es peligroso a los gatos. Gracias sobre la música. Amo, amo, amo, música!.
Just having a look back over you archive. He is adorable, in a looking for my lunch kind of way!
Mary MacADNski: Some people down the road feed him. They were teasing me the other day saying if he ever shows up with cat fur in his mouth they will know he was her. Cruel!
Sí! Yo recordaba esta foto!
Mary MacADNski: Quise demostrar la diferencia en resorte e invierno. La piel es más pesada y más oscura en invierno.
