very interesting
So we were all right Mary!!
I will inform the cast from Paint your Wagon we have found their missing wheel Nice composition Have a lovely weekend
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Tracy. It wouldn't make much of a replacement but is a good garden item.
What we all DIDN'T know, Mary, is that the rim would be gone!! So there you surprised me.
Mary MacADNski: It wouldn't make much of a replacement but is a good garden item.
Oh ... I get it now !!!!!! it was one of the round wheel thingies that they put on Grand Pri racing cars. ;-) ;-) richard
Mary MacADNski: A little wobbley but a race winner from the past.
Didn't guess there would be so much missing!!
Like the Old Crow song!
Mary MacADNski: It wouldn't make much of a replacement but is a good garden item. Old Crow has a good sound.
Wagon wheel...with minor flesh wound! The ring hoop, I suppose, has gone to visit that old hoop retirement village in the sky where there are no cobblestones to cause it pain and grief.
Or...perhaps it is in another part of your garden, chatting up the daffodils...
Mary MacADNski: This shot shows a hoop but it's from a much larger whee. I have two, one at each end of this flower garden. I'm going to email you a photo of some of the rusty garden ware.
I like the shadow on the grass... an extra dimension
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Chantal.
No Photoshop eh? Well Mary I understand that there is a good, free, photoediting program available on the web called the Gimp. I've not used it but have met some who have. They sing its praises, you might want to check it out. I was amazed when I first started using the 'digital darkroom', the things that can be done and the effects achieved are really unbelievable. It takes time of course and some would say it's cheating but then some might say using a car-jack to change a wheel is cheating too.
Mary MacADNski: I downloaded Magix on advice from here but it ate my originals so I haven't used it since. I don't think it's cheating and use Picasa for straightening horizons and the occasional crop. I do like the natural colours but have tweaked on occasion. I'm probably one of the few who don't have Photoshop though.
Bumpy journey ahead Mary!
Mary MacADNski: LOL, Chris. Bumpy journey indeed!
So, there it is Mary! Beautiful composition. I like the texture and the lighting.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Richard. You're too kind.
Nice to use in the garden, interesting feature with so much missing.
Mary MacADNski: I've got lots of neat things in my garden. Nothing is ever boring here.
I love the imagery of just the centre spindle and spokes left, and the shadow cast over the remnants.
If only it could talk, the history it could possibly recall. Very nice composition
Mary MacADNski: My property was once the blacksmith shop. These wheels may have been made or repaired here.
Amazing, I thought it would be intact, this is a very unique piece of wagon wheel, I am surprised, thanks for sharing.
Mary MacADNski: I have lots of fun things in my crazy gardens.
