Warm Jellyfish

Yesterday's bird and this jellyfish were found at a 'new to me' beach.  When driving home after an errand, I made a turn where I usually go straight. Tide was going out.  I could see clam diggers walking out to what would soon be sand. I hung around a couple of hours and tracked that bird. The jellyfish was brought in with the wave action and will want to get back to the water lest the same thing happens as what happened to the last jellyfish I showed you. The water was very warm that day. Here's a link to the jellyfish information too.

Perhaps he's a sunlover, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: I think they are. They always ride close to the surface.

Let's hope this beauty stays that way, Mary! Don't you just love finding new routes home...!
Mary MacADNski: It was a fun day. I beached in the same general area yesterday and saw a jelly fish body separated from it's tentacles.

Aren't they peculiar things Mary!
Mary MacADNski: Yes. I beached in the same general area yesterday and saw a jelly fish body separated from it's tentacles. Some children were afraid of them yesterday too but the parents didn't pacify them with any facts. I kept my nose out if, even thought it was a hard thing to do.

Let's hope it makes it, Mary!
Mary MacADNski: I beached in the same general area yesterday and saw a jelly fish body separated from it's tentacles. It was still floating. They do certainly get washed up and destroyed in many ways. I guess why that is why there are so many of them.
The Jellyfish

Who wants my jellyfish?
I'm not sellyfish!

Mary MacADNski: I have eaten them! Truly. In a Japanese restaurant. One of our party ordered it and I was the only other one brave enough to try it.

Cooked jellyfish - can't be nice.

amazing creatures
Mary MacADNski: They are and since we get the mild stinging kind that are not dangerous, it is not a big deal if you get stung. You just wipe the area with sand and the sensation goes away.
A fine looking Jellyfish, and lovely sand below it.
Mary MacADNski: It was a lovely little beach, good for a change.
I hear that our Med coast is full with jellyfish out of heat wave and warm waters. It usually happens at this time of the year.
Mary MacADNski: That is what brings theme here too. We have warm water around the island since we are basically a big sandbar so we get these and the clear ones.
No doubt it will be glad to get back - no, silly me, I doubt if it has emotions smile
Mary MacADNski: It probably does not know the danger of being swept in. They do certainly get washed up and destroyed in many ways. I guess why that is why there are so many of them.
Yikes - poor thing... hope the tide gets to him before he frys!
Mary MacADNski: I didn't check on the way back but saw one the next trip broken in half, body separated from tentacles.
