Cooling Off

I got a lot of boat shots on my vacation and again on Sunday at an annual poker run (by boat) that I always try to attend. I won't run out of boat shots anytime soon.  This shot is from Halifax Harbour taken on vacation.

YAY for us, then, Mary. A poker run??? smile
Mary MacADNski: A big party on water is another way to describe it. For the poker hand, you receive a card at each of five harbours you stop at on the way to the party place. You pay five dollars to begin with. The winning poker hand gets half the money and the charity, a community skating rink, gets the other half. After the last stop everyone ends to a cove and the boats get in a circle, light the bargecues, open the coolers, and the party begins. Everyone swims and plays in the middle.
definitely boat friday

Is the poker run where wives chase their partners around town wielding red hot pokers?
Mary MacADNski: No hot pokers, just hot people. A big party on water is another way to describe it.
You caught the light very nicely here Mary!
Glad to be back after a long abscence due to internet connection problemsÂ…
Mary MacADNski: Good to have you back.
Nice and calm Boat Friday Mary
Wonderful photosmile Greetings
What is a poker run Mary?
Mary MacADNski: The short answer:
A big party on water is another way to describe it. For the poker hand, you receive a card at each of five harbours you stop at on the way to the party place. You pay five dollars to begin with. I'll explain it better when I post pictures from it.
A good way to be alone, one man and the sea.
Mary MacADNski: Probably on his way to the hardware store or the beer store?
Lovely shot, Mary.
We have lots of fine boat shots to look at today, I like this one, and the change in state of water between the foreground and the boats wake is very enjoyable.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Brian. This evening had some nice light and boat opportunities.

Ah... just simple pleasures. Nothing too grand yet space for an ice box for a bottle or two of chilled white and then just anchor up somewhere and take time out... smile
Mary MacADNski: Yes, probably on his way to the wine store for that reason.
So simple but perfect in colour.
Mary MacADNski: It was a nice light.
This is beautiful Mary - I love the position of the boat in your frame.
Mary MacADNski: Tried my best.
well framed here. nice warm reflections from the sun lit hull
Mary MacADNski: Thanks, Ayush, a nice evening light.
