photoblog image Fireweed

Fireweed

July is fireweed season.

This shot has been in the unassigned bin for just one

of those July days that it might come in handy.

All wonderful, but the third shot is special, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: I used to pass that field in the third picture every day. I miss that old commute.

I really enjoyed the performance!
Mary MacADNski: I like this version too. Gina was quite the star in her day.
i love all the shots especially the sea of colour in the first and the dof play in the second.
Mary MacADNski: Thanks very much. The flowers are very photogenic.
Superbe champ de fleurs, j'aime beaucoup la troisième photo.
Mary MacADNski: The third was taken on my former commute to work. I miss that view.
I love all three photos!!!

And that voice!
Mary MacADNski: Fireweed is photogenic. Do you have it in the west?
I like the version with the perfect tempo and yes, voice.

Very pertinent to use this shot today Mary
Mary MacADNski: All three are older. It is a busy time of year!

That is a field expressing a fine blush of colour.
Mary MacADNski: It can't help itself.
What we call Rosebay Willow herb. Pretty little flower
Mary MacADNski: A long name but more verbose, as is the English way.

Surely an eldorado for the bees!
Mary MacADNski: I know there is a global shortage of bees but it has not affected us here in Prince Edward Island. We are lucky to have a large population.
Three really enjoyable shots but the third one is my favourite of the three.

Bill beat me to it with rosebay willow herb, though I don't think I have ever seen it growing in such quantities as in your first image.
Mary MacADNski: That is not an unusual sight at all to see fields full.
these photos of the fireweed are all fantastic Mary... your closeup of the flowers seem so delicate... the bees should be very happy at this time of the year....petersmile
And very well it serves, too, Mary!

this is just beautiful
What a delightful wildflower this is, Mary, as are your captures of them. Love the closeup shot.
