Swallowtail

Yellow butterflies seem to like the white lilac this year.

On this day there were two flitting around.

One had both tails intact while the other had lost one.

Very pretty in color, Care.
Care MacADNski: I am watching them right now in living colour. I see them every day as they are very common this year.
Superbes photos, je préfère le papillon en couleur.
Care MacADNski: I think colour is most popular this week.
Swallowtails have such an elegant shape - that they look equally beautiful whether in living color or black and white! Great photo's, Care!
And thanks for Tony!
Care MacADNski: These yellow swallowtails are very common this year. They are everywhere! Thanks. I enjoyed this 'at home' Tony too.
They are beautifully camouflaged in B&W, Care, but butterflies for me are begging for color.
Care MacADNski: They are so noticeable in their yellow cloaks too.
The b&w is well done but colour for me here
Care MacADNski: I think colour is the winner today.

Luck you to see this beauty!
Care MacADNski: They are plentiful this year. I am seeing them everywhere. They certainly loved the lilacs.

The third picture is an excellent one - shows the swallow tail clearly.
Care MacADNski: In the first two the right tail was missing. |I believe this was a pair as they were doing wonderful aerial acrobatics.

Wonderful patterns and shapes all round.
Care MacADNski: I like the leaf shadows on the far right.
They are stunning creatures, Care! I recall spending hours photographing swallowtails among lavender smile
Care MacADNski: Yellow against the lavender would be great. These are very plentiful this year.

Butterflies are such wonderful animals and you did a great job capturing them. How sad that one lost its tail, I hope that does not keep him for flying. Outstanding pictures, both in B&W and colour.
Care MacADNski: It didn't affect the flying at all as they were doing aerial acrobatics. I think they are a couple.
Great butterfly shots, I really like the third one.
Care MacADNski: Thanks, Brian. These are plentiful this year for some reason.

I like the B&W a lot. You get a different view of the butterfly without the color.
