Socially competent critters, aren't they, Mary...we might learn something from gulls.
Mary MacADNski: They are on a schedule too like most of us.
They look like they're walking on water! (rather than IN the water...) smile
Mary MacADNski: They have their choice here. Must be easier to groom on lane.

But they're happy..
Mary MacADNski: They do look entirely contented.
Happy birds, Mary!!!
Mary MacADNski: After lunch it seems. Cleaning time.
A lovely bunch of happy friends Mary!
Mary MacADNski: They look very comfortable.

A great picture in my estimation.
Mary MacADNski: I certainly like your estimation, Sir.
They appear hunched up against the cold Mary, but that could be their natural posture.
Mary MacADNski: I think some of the hunched up posture is that of sleeping or resting which seems to be the general activity here. Oh, to absorb all that sunshine!

..and a little ice, too. They all seem to be facing the sun so enjoying a little token warmth on their chests.
Mary MacADNski: Getting their vitamin D.

Just chillin' out by the looks of it
Mary MacADNski: Resting or sleeping mostly it seems.
Taking a break to preen and socalise.
Mary MacADNski: A fine activity for a winter's day, Martin

You caught everything in that one shot...
Don't you just love those birds on the ice.
Love the water, for some reason I do love the different shades in it smile
Mary MacADNski: The shades are water and ice on a day when the sun is away only momentarily.
the gulls like to skate on the thin ice Mary... are they having a political rally....petersmile
Mary MacADNski: Gulls will be gulls.
they are all looking at the sun, it seems. very cheerful and positive of them
Mary MacADNski: I think the sun is on its way out or out of range only momentarily.
Even allowing for the fact that these birds look suspiciously like gulls...I like the picture
Mary MacADNski: Ha ha, You might have been fooled momentarily into thinking they were ducks.
Nice that they aren't frozen out entirely!
Mary MacADNski: No, there are lots of duckss about. As I predicted the last time I posted ducks was that I would end up with one or two pairs that would stay the winter. There is one.
