Jack was originally owned by my friends' daughter. She has been gone from the nest for quite a few years, got a couple of degrees and trades and is settled in Nova Scotia. Her parents kept Jack for all these nine years knowing that someday the dog would be going.
In a surprise move daughter came home a couple of weeks ago and took Jack. She did not inform her parents ahead of time to be kind as she knew her parents would have been upset for days.
The move saves a whole lot of issues here, Jack feels like he's in heaven, and her roommate (with a nearby father) who had his golden retriever euthanized two weeks previously, is overjoyed.
She will be missed here but she will visit again as the daughter often comes home. Here's Jack on the 19th of October. I had great shots of her from Thanksgiving weekend and lost them along with all the shots from a family walk in the woods.
