Lonesome

I believe the cormorants are gone for the season as they usually cover these old bridge posts in the Pinette River.  They will surely return in spring if all goes as predicted.

Did anyone spot the lone gull?

The heron seen below flew overhead and landed in front of me on the bank across the river.

This is a beautiful spot and does, indeed, look lonely. Winter is about to begin!
Care MacADNski: Winter has begun here (it is Nov20)

I love this once-bridge, Mary.
Care MacADNski: I have two of these in my area that I have shown over the years. This is on a road that everyone sees. The other is very isolated and a secret beach.
Nice shots Mary. I have a dozen or so Cormorants that I see regularly at my place in England. Also a family of six or seven Herons.
Care MacADNski: Both birds here are migrators but I suppose they would stay all winter where you are in England.
Lovely shots! Lucky you with that Heron! I did see the lone gull right away!
A lovely song - I've always thought her voice was like Molasses, strong but smooth - and it sticks with you.
Care MacADNski: Thank you. It will be several months before I see cormorants or herons again. Her voice is wonderful and she sings good songs though I do not know if she writes them or not.

Yes I can see the gull at the front
Care MacADNski: He was trying his best with the new camo cloth.

There is something about posts sticking out of water that I like. Quite evocative.

I can see the lonely gull - I like your image!
Care MacADNski: Thank you, Philine.
The gull's colours are almost the same as the water, Mary. Looks like a good spot for bird watching.
Care MacADNski: It is right on the TCH and lots of people stop. There is a free day park on one side of the river.
Another fine set of pictures from your river walk Mary.
Care MacADNski: Now, on the 20, there is snow covering everything. We are having a very early winter.

Care MacADNski: Thanks so much, Sherri.

I'm sure that will be mack come the spring. The posts make a good stop to preen and watch for any passing meals. The gull looks a bit lonely.
Care MacADNski: Yes, I think he would be lonely by himself there./
The gull is wondering where everybody went. Winter is almost here

WONDERFUL...I really like the layers here.
Care MacADNski: Thank you, Bonnie. The grasses did not have a chance to get golden this year as the snow came early.
