Natural Selection

I recently read this article about why Dec. 28th is considered the unluckiest day of the year.

My paternal grandmother was born on this day and I had a 27 year old brother die on this day in 1983.

My maternal grandmother died on 29 Dec, two decades after him.

This is only a small part of why Dec. can be difficult.

This year is good, however. Good spirits are in evidence.

Special dates can resonate with happiness or sadness, Mary

The branch/tree has fallen.

It is sad that some people died on this date, but that wouldn't make the date unlucky as people die on all days of the year. As to the article - when Emperor Constantine converted to Christianity, he was not very knowledgeable about Christian facts. He ordered a lot of things, in order to establish the institute of church. The same happened with Emperor Theodosius later in Rome. Nobody knew when Christ was born, but the 25th Dec was ordered as commemoration day. This led to the establishment of related Christian dates - e.g. the slaughter of innocents. Meantime, based on non-Biblical sources, Christ was born somewhere between 7 and 2 BC. Herod the Great died 4 BC. There is a lot of other stuff - but the point is that setting Christian commemorative dates is purely speculative and arbitrary. The chance that the slaughter of the innocents could have been on 28 Dec is 1:365.

Again, I fully understand that the date has special meaning for you and nothing can change it. My comment refers to the article.
Your picture highlights that everything has its time that ends one day. Louis's comment is interesting. Great video today, one of the best by them.
December can be a very difficult month, particularly if you lose someone close to you.
i love the texture of the wood Mary...
