photoblog image Snow Day 2

Snow Day 2

The pond is getting smaller and smaller at a very fast rate. Before I lived here and prior to the community building an indoor rink, this property was the place for kids and families to skate. The school bus made a stop here and the high school kids would clean it off and play hockey. I was told this story but did not experience it in my 35 years here.

An illegal pond constructed across the road in the 80's ruined this one with heavy silt. I live beside the pond but do not own it and the landowner sadly ignored the whole situation. It was a popular fishing spot at one time too but it is now too shallow to support the once healthy trout population.

that would make a fantastic Christmas card

Super Super Beauty!!

Love your image - but am sorry the pond is shrinking!

None the less it looks pretty with this pristine snow
Mary MacADNski: Yes, it stayed that way too and still is pretty more than a week later.
I love this image, Mary.
Mary MacADNski: You would love a trek - in the right clothes.

Well shiver me timbers.
Mary MacADNski: Like your place last year, when we had no snow.

Oh that's a shame to hear about the silting. Looks like you have a good dump of snow.
Mary MacADNski: Just the right amount. The ski hills are covered.

Wonder- wonderful - my dream of a real winter!
Mary MacADNski: Last year, no snow. It is different every year.
A fine picture Mary, but sad about the pond
Mary MacADNski: It is sad about the pond and against the law to alter a waterway.
It is a beautiful photo Mary.
Mary MacADNski: Much appreciation. You have seen this scene a lot in the decade and more.

A sad transition, Mary, but it looks picturesque in the snow
Mary MacADNski: It is very sad about the pond. We did have lots of very good years on it though.

What a sad story of your pond.

The scene looks so serene and peaceful.
Mary MacADNski: It is always peaceful and serene here.
what a beautiful scene, Mary. and a tragedy about the pond.
Mary MacADNski: The man who dug the other pond really messed up a whole ecosystem.
