photoblog image Cedar Waxwings

Cedar Waxwings

I do love the waxwing family and get both because of my apple trees.  These are all cedar waxwings. I was so pleased to get this second image. Last summer I showed a few in the classroom.

Mary, these are great pictures. This must be very exciting to see this family grow and that you are able to share these pictures the kids.

You seem to know your birds Mary.
Mary MacADNski: Ha ha. So funny that you should say this. These are Bohemian Waxwings, not cedar.
They are very attractive birds Mary

I like the one just about to touchdown.
I love these birds too, Mary. Waxwings came every year to our garden pond at our former suburban home. Now that we've moved to the city we don't see many birds at all.

What strikes me most is that the waxwings nest on groundlevel - cats, dogs, foxes, etc.
