photoblog image Pollens Make Honey

Pollens Make Honey

I have b/w written in my files but this looks greyscale to me. It is from 2012 so I can not remember.

I have heard many versions of Van doing this song and this live version from A Night in San Fransisco is a great one. Brian Kennedy is the singer with Van coming in in the middle. You can feel how the audience loves it as much as I do.

i love, love the greyscale version

so beautifully captured
Care MacADNski: I think it is an amaryllis. Thank so much.
Fantastic, Mary!!! Such sharp focus and wonderful light on the anthers... You've captured some real depth on such a small subject!
Yes - terrific version of this wonderful song!
Care MacADNski: Thank you. I love flowers so much I want to get ever closer. Yes, a great version.
Colour wins again for me Mary I like the abstractness of them all. Brian Kennedy is really good with Van.
Care MacADNski: Thanks, Frank. I did like Brian's addition to the band.
Pour une fois, j'aime le noir et blanc.
Care MacADNski: I think it is an amaryllis.

The bottom picture is a good one
Care MacADNski: My favorite lily! Thry are all gone now, devestated with the Asian lILY bEETLE.
Heavy-laden with all the goodies! I like all of them, Mary. smile
Care MacADNski: Just waiting for a kind bee,

"you don't remember" wink...
Just kidding, Mary. I LOVE these details of the pollen. I like all of the pictures.
Care MacADNski: Remembering is not easy to remember.
Colour works best for me here Mary
Care MacADNski: Quite summery in colour.

It is a lovely piece of art in my eyes.

Some great shots. I like the light on the pollen in the grey b&w smile
Care MacADNski: I wonder if a bee would come to the grey one.
The light on all of them is captivating, Mary. Love each shot equally.
Care MacADNski: Thank you. Spring is finally in the air and these summer images are helping chase away winter.
The lowest shot is the best for me. It might be Grayscale as there is a lack of contrast.
Care MacADNski: Agreed. I find greysccale boring compared to b/w. The lowest one smells heavenly.

I'm unsure what the difference is between B&X and greyscale; I assume that all B&W images had grey in them to represent the tones? I expect the inspects aren't too concerned either way.
Care MacADNski: There is never black in greyscale. It is a monotone. Black and white is very different offering opposite contrasts with only a bit of grey.
you did well with all three images Mary... it's our time of year to go into the archives in order to post pictures daily...
spring is still a ways off for us... i hope that you are luckier....petersmile
Care MacADNski: I have been doing major backups with my photos and music and finding lots of shots. this retirement business is really great!

Wonderful stamens waiting for the bees!
Care MacADNski: Like I am waiting for bees. I can buy flowers all winter but the bees don’t come with them.
Fine image, Mary.
Care MacADNski: Thank you, Tom.
either way I like it...
Care MacADNski: The stamens, pollen or song.

This is seriously beautiful, Mary.
Care MacADNski: Can you imagine our long wait for flowers and bees?
