Mary, there is no more joy then to walk through the woods and see nature doing it's work. You have some great pictures here.
Care MacADNski: The walk was great for me who is never cold. My companion did not have the proper footwear and got cold.

Yes, there is no better place. I can imagine the smell.
Care MacADNski: It did have a wonderful smell but I think it was of snow. There was a mist in the air caused by melting snow.

Even in the depths of winter, there is life in the forest. The fungi create a forest of their own.
Care MacADNski: fungi are doing their job; good little workers.
All manner of forest treasures here.just the sort of stuff I like to discover.
Care MacADNski: This is a totally neglected woodland so full of fallen trees. Very steep too.
Fungus takes over!
