photoblog image May Bouquet

May Bouquet

Still in the unassigned bin since daffodill season last year.

My big old forsythia bush was badly damaged by my

snow removal fellow this winter.

Many people will delight in blossoming branches as I intend

to force them when disposing of the broken off wood.

Jolie présentation pour ce beau bouquet.

Yellow on yellow works well, Mary.

I like that water droplet, too.
Care MacADNski: Good eye. I had to go back to look. I did not find the water drop for some time.
Two favourites, lovely colour Mary.
Care MacADNski: Yellow brightens everything.
Lovely Lovely!! Some of the forsythia in town have gotten frostbitten... they always do that. I think they bloom to early, but I suppose they know what they're doing... ?

Interesting setting for this performance - and once again he shows off his graceful & strong movements!
Care MacADNski: Yes, the performance space is a living room. smile
Idon't really understand forsythia and it's cycles. Some years it doesn't bloom. Other years it is partial and patchy in bloom and some years the total tree is a wondrous being!

Care MacADNski: They don't bloom till May here and I await patiently.

Always good to see plants blooming and recovering when we thought them done for.
Care MacADNski: This forsythia was badly injured with whole trunks broken off. The fellow damages it every year but this time it has been ravaged.
They go together beautifully, Mary. Sorry to hear that your forsythia sustained damage this year.

These two go so well together that they make for a really enjoyable picture.
Care MacADNski: They do look lovely. A purple hyacinth thrown in makes it even more special.
Makes a lovely show!
Care MacADNski: I await May blooms with dwindling patience.
I like forsythia for the short period it flowers but after that it s a dull fellow
Care MacADNski: Where it is on my property, you don't notice it except when it is in bloom.

Oh, a wonderful composition - the yellow and the green signalise springtime and are enliving our mood.
Care MacADNski: I await those May day again!

A fine combination of spring colours. I don't understand your comment about forcing the blossoming branches but it matters not.
Care MacADNski: I will clip the branches off the broken trunks. When put in a vase inside, the warmth will soon make it bloom beautifully. I do it every year anyway. This year I will have hundreds of those clipped branches so will share with everyone.
those plow guys take their tole over the winter Mary... they break up the lower branches on my spruce trees along our driveway... but we would take half of the day to clear the snow... we put up with it....petersmile
Care MacADNski: That is exactly it. The bush was planted before I moved here 35 years ago. I was planted just where the fellow has to push the snow on top of it. I have to do work on it every year but this wear was big, big damage - more than half the original bush.

You don't get a more springlike bouquet than this, Mary - quite delightful
Care MacADNski: I can't wait for May. Some years they are ready in April but this year we must wait.
