Waiting

Our lobster season was delayed a couple of days due to heavy winds and seas. On setting day the boats are fully loaded with traps so there is more danger of capsizing.

I went down to a local wharf nearing sunset time, thinking the boats would be loaded, delay or not.  It wasn't so. The traps were still on the wharf and the boats were empty.

Here's Rose Cousins, an Islander who was probably waiting for some lobster too.

Ruby is here too - with no birthday hangover.

I expect that lobster men are itching to get out there. Ruby would like a little lobster, I'm sure.
Care MacADNski: They are out now and everyone is having lobster today, Mother's Day.
I like the evening light Mary, what do the lobster fishermen do during the winter to make a living?
Care MacADNski: Some have other jobs; some collect unemployment insurance.

Lovely Mary
Care MacADNski: Hi Tracy! In two days, you and Aussie have appeared, blasts from the past. A bit of spring fever perhaps.
great portrait of Ruby Mary... i like your point of view of the lobster boats with the sun flowing through the windows of the cabin....petersmile
Care MacADNski: Thanks, peter. Happy Mother's Day Penny!

Ruby had too many mice for birthday dinner?

I like your late afternoon shot. I can almost feel the wind.
Care MacADNski: It was cool and windy. The cats are happy with being outdoors where the mice are more populous.
I always find lobster hard work - all that effort to get out a little meat smile
Care MacADNski: I don't mind a bit!

Lovely light play all over the place.
Care MacADNski: I thought the boats would be loaded but they were not.

I’m visiting Canada, from the 25th May. I’m travelling from Vancouver to Calgary. Looking forward to my trip.
Care MacADNski: It is a big country and yours is a big trip. I live on the other side, on the Atlantic coast.
Oh but you got a fantastic image - the composition and light is amazing!

Thanks for Rose & Ruby, as well!
Care MacADNski: It got misdated. Surprise when I pressed next on friday and there was a boat there.
