Friday Filler

The wharf was so filled with traps, all I could see on the boats was the lights, radar and aerials atop the superstructure.

The second photo shows docks removed for the winter. A couple of weeks ago I showed docks frozen under ice and snow that had not been brought in due to our sudden freeze up.

These docks are probably in the water now as these photos were taken 30 April.

Love the light in that top shot! The docks look so odd out of water.
LOVE that video... She's so great!
Care MacADNski: The docks are a familiar sight here. My older blog featured her many times and her manager came on thanking me, not threatening me.

All good signs of spring I'd say..
Care MacADNski: Yes, we've been eating lobster for weeks.
I know that your winters wreak havoc on the livelihood of your fishermen, Mary. The photos are telling.
Care MacADNski: This was a most unusual year.
Great lighting Mary
Care MacADNski: That evening had very nice lighting as you can see in even today's photo of the red cottage.

An unusual perspective but a good image.
Care MacADNski: You had to weave through different owner's traps like a maze.
your shots make me want to look in my wardrobe for warm clothing, Mary. i like these scenes and these places.
Care MacADNski: It was chilly that evening.
I guess the onset of spring, and then later on winter, mean a lot of work has to be done getting ready for, and shutting down, the business of fishing for a living.
Care MacADNski: Yes, fishing is a lot of work each season.
two great shots Mary... you do have a boat in this shot... i like your point of view with all the traps piled up...
it's cool how they roll the docks on the long pipes....petersmile
Care MacADNski: They don't roll. They are pontoons.
Quite a business to get things going again!
Care MacADNski: Like a farmer, always something to do.
