Crow's Banquet

Moments after my neighbour cut his hay, crows and other birds descended onto the field looking for rodents and field birds such as bobolinks. In this field the bobolinks had not as yet fledged. I have been a study concerning them for years.

The crows's catch here is a medium sized meadow vole.

I love this post!
Care MacADNski: It sure was a day of action in that field.
La chasse a été bonne.
Care MacADNski: There were many victims.
Great photo, gif & music!!!
Care MacADNski: The music matches the busy day over the field that day.

Yup - it's dinner time all round..
Care MacADNski: Birds of all kinds had a feast day yet the unfledged bobolinks paid a price.

With their keen eyesight they don’t miss a thing.
Care MacADNski: The field was filled with birds of all kinds, many after insects, but the crows ruled the mousie world.

a very intensive black - the crow seems to like playing with its victim. Nature can be cruel.
Poor little creature, it wasn't doing any harm, but that's how nature works of course.
Nothing is wasted. Shame about the bobolinks...whatever they are
the crows meal doesn't look that appetizing Mary... i really like your action photos below the main image....petersmile

you will have to show me how you do it....re-petersmile
