photoblog image Cloud Light

Cloud Light

The clouds play an important part in the light that hits the cliffs.

This is the beach that I am featuring in the erosion series. Not many people venture here as you must walk in ankle deep muck to get around the point if you and the tide are not in perfect sync.

Of course Gail and I ended up covered in muck as we freed, dragged, and carried a couple of hundred feet of rope off the beach that posed a hazard to marine animals.

Pas très accueillant comme endroit, on dirait que les arbres vont tomber en bas de la falaise.
Care MacADNski: That is just the purpose this week, to show our erosion.

What a beautiful place...well worth getting a bit of muck on you to get here.
Care MacADNski: We took the wrong path out carrying this rope and I went up to my knees. Luckily Gail did not follow.

Brave you, it does look very mucky to me..
Care MacADNski: Where you can see there is no mud at all, just the sand and rocks at lowish tide. The muck was already passed to get to this point.
The landscape is certainly on the move round here, all the eroded material must get deposited somewhere else.
Care MacADNski: The cliffs basically crumble into boulders. Boulders become rocks and rock becomes sand.
You can certainly see the erosion and the light on the cliff is lovely. Good on you both for clearing debris from the beach
Care MacADNski: I just had company drop by and they took the rope! I have been trying to get rid of it since.

I am wondering where this scene is located. I have seen similar scenes in Nova Scotia.
Care MacADNski: This is the southern shore of Prince Edward Island.
This is a terrific image Mary, the erosion certainyl doesn't have a difficult job with such soft soil. BTW your other image and the attached video today are very enjoyable indeed.
Care MacADNski: Thanks very much. All this was put together before the hurricane. There was a huge tidal surge on the north shore causing big erosion during the storm.

This is a local gal, the partner of a family friend.

a wonderful, impressive image - the red cliffs are really stunning.
