photoblog image Monday Matters

Monday Matters

Black, then greyscale, then colour of an Elaine Harrison painting hanging in my house.

It gets hit by a rainbow every sunny day of the year.

i think it is a clever shot, Mary. very effective, in my eyes.
Care MacADNski: Thank you, Ayush. The first two are just one button changes of the third.

Love that light effect in #3!
Care MacADNski: That seems to be the consensus today.
How wonderful that it gets colored by a rainbow!
Beautiful song.
Care MacADNski: I have lots of crystals in the west facing kitchen window. Lots of rainbows everywhere.
Good idea Mary, its worked well...
Care MacADNski: The first two are just one button changes of the third. The b/w button is quite harsh.

Her naive style is appealing
Care MacADNski: She was very productive as most of her work was done after her career in teaching.

Such a striking set of pictures, Mary - you must be so pleased with them
Care MacADNski: I am always trying to explain the one button technique but the b/w was so harsh that I did a grey scale version as well. I take photos of house rainbows all the time.
You saved the best one for the last, Mary!!!
Care MacADNski: I think most share your opinion.

To be honest, Mary, I love the coloured one the best... you captured the light wonderfully.
Care MacADNski: I take many rainbow pictures as I have crystals in a west side kitchen window.

The greyscale gives much better definition of this. It is my favourite of the three.
Care MacADNski: It fixes the fact that in the straight b/w conversion, everything but the light is in the shade.
I like the colour version best Mary
Care MacADNski: Seems that is the consensus.
It gets better and better! smile
Care MacADNski: Thank you. It certainly explains the situation.

i love the top/main image you displayed

(you should think about leaving them mysterious and not revealing the bigger view)
Care MacADNski: This week so easily explains the differences between the one button straight b/w conversion and the one button greyscale.

Larry suggested I just show the b/w each week for the mystery but I like the 'show the difference' part each week.
the first image is confusing Mary... and the second is good... my favorite is the last one with the rainbow across its face....petersmile
Care MacADNski: That is the straight out of camera image, crooked and all. The painting is actually crooked on the wall as a plant over it weighs down a corner.

I'm glad you told us what the image was as I had no idea at all! It's a bit clearer in the second image but all becomes apparent in the colour version.
Care MacADNski: i love playing when I get some time.

Color works best, for me, Mary.
Care MacADNski: That is the consensus.
