Setting Day! Hurrah!

At six am today, our district sets out lobster traps in a season delayed two weeks.

These were taken last night and posted a bit after your midnight turnaround.

Que de casiers, la pêche doit être bonne. Jolie vue d'ensemble.
Care MacADNski: Lobster is important both here and for the export market.
Traps galore!
Care MacADNski: This is a very small little harbour with 4 boats. The one Tara and her brother fish from has over 100 boats. This little one is closest to home.
I love the light on your photos here.
A gentle rolling kind of song
Care MacADNski: The light on the water was amazing that night. Each photo has gold water in it. They are all SOOC except one coming up in a couple of weeks that has twiddle in the title. The water light was gorgeous! This is my second favorite Stan Song.
i like the paint scheme on dock and the angle of the sunlight, Care.
Care MacADNski: The sun angle gave a lovely golden glow to the water. Thank you.

Wonderful to have real markers like this in the Community Routines, and a fine image, too, Care.
Care MacADNski: Setting day is big on PEI. This small harbour is closest to home with 4 boats. The one Tara and her brother fish from has over 100 boats.
What gorgeous lighting, Care, for these 2 images. I can just imagine how eager the fishermen are to get their lobster season started after this delay.
Care MacADNski: The light on the water was most beautiful. I have to get out more at this time of day.
Fine shots and one of my favourite Stan Rogers songs that he sings with such great feeling
Care MacADNski: My friend, Debbie Adshade, did this song on a tribute album that was an Amazing version. She has her own YouTube channel but does not have it there nor can I find it anywhere. I know I have it on tape or CD but can't find it. If I ever find it, I will send it to you.

I guess this is a competitive business..
Care MacADNski: This year a bit less so as the markets will be depressed due to lack of sales to tourists, cruise ships, restaurants etc. There was a peddler truck in the neighbourhood yesterday asking $5.50/pound for small ones and $6.50/pound for larger ones. My son said there was a line up and he came here to wait, then left too late to catch the fellow.

I think they all will be thrilled by going back to work and get some lobster fishing done.
Great pictures to celebrate the event.
Care MacADNski: You are right about that! Tara was here the night before this photo. She and her brother had been hard at work the last month and they were very excited.

Food must be produced.
Care MacADNski: Yummy and delicious. This year the markets will be depressed due to lack of sales to tourists, cruise ships, restaurants etc. More for me!
Presumably the post trap setting celebration, if there is one, was seriously curtailed.
Care MacADNski: No celebration after setting day. Everyone probably goes home to a hot bath and bedtime. Very physical day!

I get they wee glad to get the pits back in the water. I don't believe that the UK has such foxed dates for these activities.
Care MacADNski: We have two seasons, the larger district in the spring, 01 May, and western side of the island sets on 15 August.
Love the light in these images, Care! smile
Care MacADNski: It was very nice light and all straight out of the camera.
Wonderful to hear of great community events like this, Care. And a photo record to go with it.
Care MacADNski: Setting day is big on PEI. This small harbour is closest to home with 4 boats. Other wharves have over 100 boats.
these are two magnificent pictures of the lobster boats Cary... i had never thought that they would carry so many traps on their boats but i guess that they would set them up in different strings out on the seas....petersmile
Care MacADNski: There are still loads on the wharves as they can't put everything out in one trip. There are usually several trips out as most fishers have a couple hundred traps.

That is the thing of the virus impact. Even ordinary things can make a person happy, when it can be done again.
Care MacADNski: Oh yes! Tara was here the night before this photo. She and her brother had been hard at work the last month and they were very excited. As a consumer, I am happy too.
