True Confessions

Summer on the Island is my excuse for being absent these last few weeks. The constant heat warnings have made everyone seek relief somewhere. I do not have air conditioning so the water is the next best place. With no lack of beaches, I have my choice.

We had our annual boat day, no longer a fund-raiser but a fun-raiser welcoming as many boats as usual. Capt. Bob has procured a 30-foot sailboat now that Capt. Ryan has The Dover Lady and I was invited aboard for one of the first sails. Pure heaven to me.

My camera died two weeks ago. An hour outdoors on a misty morning did the final damage though it was acting up before that. I truly feel like I have lost an appendage. Would you believe it is difficult to find a new camera?

Nice catch!
I'm so glad you have the water to escape to!
And I'm soooo sorry about your camera! You WILL find one!!
Cute video!
Care MacADNski: I am going to try the second hand route. I am so lost...

Turned out everyone in the community has been experiencing internet problems since a thunderstorm, not just me. Back on now.

Perhaps you could use a smartphone's built in camera. A lot of people do these days
Care MacADNski: I don't have a phone but my son has an old one he is going to erase and give me for the camera.

I am sorry about your camera and yes it will take some investigation to find a good one again.
Great picture on the beach.
Care MacADNski: It seems they are not making many cameras because phones have improved and people are content with that. I do not have a phone so want a camera.

Yes, they are whispering sweet nothings to each other.

Some good confessions, my child. Now 10 rosaries and a Hail Mary.

I will check whether that part about a new camera can be true...
Care MacADNski: Summer visitors are penance enough! I'm worn out....
Supposedly phone have become cameras for most people.

Love the title. I hope you get relief from the heat soon.
Care MacADNski: We have had wind for the last few days due to a southern hurricane but it will not bring rain here. The wind brings some relief though the temps do not go down, an estimated 29 again today.
Sorry to hear about the camera. Stopping myself from buying another camera is my problem. Lots of bargains to be had second hand online
Care MacADNski: I have had several people tell me recently to try the second hand market so I am going to try that. Thanks.
I like the way these two are positioned, you were there at just the right time. You might be able to pick up a second hand model of the one that has gone wrong or a later version, I'm presuming you might have an extra lens or two that would work on the replacement. The camera model that Astrid and Ginnie have both got now is a superb bridge camera, it might be worth your contacting them for further details, I'm sure it will be on sale in Canada.
HAHA. That's just perfect, Care. I love it. Now if you can get a new camera sorted out, that will be even better.

They look as though they enjoy hanging out with each other and also seek out the beach as being slightly cooler than perhaps inland. Sorry to hear about your camera and not too surprised about what you saying that fewer cameras being made as people are now using their phones. A quick Google, though, shows that Panasonic still make their excellent TZ range and Canon still do some Powershots. I still have my little Sony RX100 which is still available so all is not lost.
"this way... no it's this way")

i have a Canon EOS T2i Care... i had sent it to Canon Repairs.. a couple of times...

Many of the repairs fall into the B rate fee which is about $180 (DSLR) plus standard shipping fee... check it out... it's a lot cheaper than buying a new camera:

That's bad news about your camera, Care - surprising, I'd have thought for a Canon - I used them for years without problems. Take a look at the Fujifilm range for a replacement smile Some bargains secondhand.
